dinner for thursday

tonight we made a dinner out of gnocchi and leeks and prosciutto and asiago. we paired it with a wine that i cannot spell, which is good because wines that are easy to spell usually taste bad. then we almost bought tickets to new york. it was a nice evening.

winter sunbreak

today i walked across the microsoft campus to have lunch with my brother-in-law, david. it was cold and i saw almost every one of my breaths as it left. it was sunny, too- almost foreign to seattle's january. it felt good to be outside.

president barack obama

i watched the inaugural address alone in my office, stimulating the economy with my work hours while witnessing patriotic history. i have never seen this level of excitement over a president. mr. obama, you have your work cut out for you. godspeed.

another foggy morning

there has been a blanket of immobile air over redmond for days; every morning and night the fog slips in and makes things mysterious. this is the balcony on my floor of the office building in which i work; i wanted to go outside but the door was inexplicably locked.

a new recipe!

kelly made a new recipe for us tonight. it had golden beets with their greens, pasta, onions, and a sprinkle of toasted pine nuts on top. it would have been delicious on any day, but we'd just returned from the gym and that, for me, makes everything taste wonderful.
